Fields in CS

  Computer science is made of five interconnected academic disciplines, as defined by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM): 

computer engineering, computer science, information systems, information technology, and software engineering. The ACM releases guidelines for college curriculums in these five fields. 

 

  These fields have a lot of overlap, but also each have distinct characteristics. This page will let you know more about these five fields and connect you to resources for each of them.
